Alexandra Chipkin

As a musical theater student at a competitive conservatory, I never felt like my body or my pirouettes were good enough, so I started taking yoga to become ‘better’. Through consistent practice, I did deepen my splits—even toned my core—but the yoga itself made that progress irrelevant. The same present-moment consciousness that allowed me to listen to and direct my physical body made me suddenly aware of the beauty, wholeness, and grace that had always resided inside of me. I came to yoga to get ‘better’, and I learned from yoga that I had been perfectly enough all along.
Teaching now allows me the pleasure of watching others realize they are extraordinary. An “Allie Chipkin” class comes infused with poetry, music and playful dance along the breath. I hope you’ll leave feeling inspired, spacious, and proud to call your body home. Namaste!
