I used to weigh nearly 325 pounds and January 1, 2008, I decided I was going to get healthy. I quit my corporate job, sold my stocks and took a year off to work on myself. I joined an athletic club, hired a trainer and went to bootcamp 3 days a week. I changed my eating habits and the combination had the pounds melt away. I started going to Zumba classes and a year later I was a Zumba instructor.
I took my first yoga class almost 2 years ago after my personal trainer moved away. I had lost over 160 lbs prior to my yoga journey. After taking my first class, I never missed a day of practice.
Three months later I enrolled in the 200 Hour trainging. I was hired by Lifetime 4 weeks into the training. I currently teach 7 classes regularly and sub 5 to 8 more classes a week. I have some of the most highly attended classes on the schedule. Average class size is 25 and my classes range from 35 to 60. I was asked to assist in the YTT program 3 months after receiving my certification. I was also invited to study with Jonny Kest for a 6 day intensive (condensed 200 Hour in 6 days) and then requested to be a guest in his 300 hour certification. I have also been a registered Zumba instructor, but let my membership exprire so I can concentrate on teaching yoga.
In addition to my teaching, I am also one of the top producing real estate agents in the Dallas market. I have been recognized in the top 5% of all sales agents and top 3% based on sales and customer Service (Texas Monthly Magazine and D Magazine)
