I fell in love with fitness in the boom of the 80's and began teaching classes at the age of 18 years old, and I have taught group fitness consistently since then, receiving my first fitness certificaiton in 1982. Since then I have taught many different class formats and am always looking for new certifications to learn from! I have enjoyed keeping up with the ever-changing fitness industry! Currenly my favorite class formats are Zumba, Spinning, and PIYO.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 30 years and we have three sons, ages 26, 25, and 22.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Education and taught school fulltime until our boys were born, when I became a stay at home mom, teaching classes part-time. In 1996, the facility I taught at offered me the job of Group Exercise Program Manager and I gladly accepted. This job has allowed me to interact with people and share my passion for fitness and help people of all ages and abilities reach their goals! I love helping people find a fitness activity they enjoy. It is so rewarding when someone who has never stepped foot in a gym before begins attending classes several times a week. It not only changes their lives, but the lives of their family and friends!
My philosophy is that fitness is more than looking good, or a number on the scale, it is about how you feel inside and out. It is about being happy and healthy!
