About Alena:
Born and raised in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. At the age of seven Alena has initiated her training and an extensive study of ballet, lyrical, and contemporary dance in prestigious Charles University Dance School of Prague. There, she studied a variety of dance techniques, dance theory and dance history. At the age of thirteen Alena began to perform on stage in a variety of Prague theaters landing soloist pieces of the company’s repertoire.
After finishing high school Alena became a member of currently leading dance studio in Prague, the DOT504. It was here, when she began working as a dance instructor teaching a variety of dance techniques such as modern, lyrical, and jazz. She not only performed soloist pieces at the company’s dance shows both domestic and abroad, she also started her choreographing career. I felt in love with the immense landscape of the bodily movement.
After completing a four year tenure at the Dance Perfect Studio Alena has been granted leading female role in Ahasver performance at the Prague’s internationally known Black Light Theater of Jiri Srnec. Here, she performed at the main theater in Prague and went on several international tours including a two-months tour in Barcelona performing in the historical Tivoli Theater and a one month tour to Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
After her move to the United States Alena finished her college education at the Oglethorpe University where she became involved in dancing, choreographing and performing dancing pieces for the school’s annual dance performance and fund-raising events.
After settling down and having her two children Alena began seeking a different form of dancing outlet. As most retired dancers do, she shifted her focus to a deeper study of Pilates and Yoga using her complete knowledge of ballet technique. Alena immediately fell in love with the Pilates method because it is so closely connected to classical and modern dance techniques. Alena guarantees transformation of your body with the Mat Pilates method as it is the ultimate mind-body exercise for anyone who wants to tone, streamline, and realign their body without the bulked-up results of more conventional workout methods. As a result of her love to Pilates Alena started teaching Mat Pilates and Yoga and began one of the most seeking instructors.
Alena holds E-RYT 500 Yoga Teacher certification. In addition, she holds PiYo certification through BeachBody. She teaches a variety of Yoga classes at a well known studio in the Atlanta area. She completed her 500hr yoga teacher certification with Jonny Kest in December 2020.
Alena shares a deep passion for Pilates and Yoga, her passion and dedication combined with her hard work ethics are undeniable.
Alena is on the teaching faculty of widely recognized YTT Collective and facilitates several modules of their 200hr Yoga Teacher Training.
Alena also designed her own 200YTT manual and is the lead trainer of Peach Out Power Yoga’s 200hr YTT.
In addition, Alena aims to bring change with work beyond the mat, serving organizations that bring yoga and mindfulness to people who need it most. Alena serves on a board of directors for Laughing Dogs Yoga, a non-profit organization providing yoga education to underserved schools in the Atlanta area. Alena is also involved with community yoga fundraising events for Lifeline Animal Project.
