I spent many years in dance before I entered the corporate world. Over the years I could not maintain the level of dance I enjoyed when I was younger and started to explore other fitness opportunities. In particular those opportunities that one can maintain throughout a lifetime. Having started taking yoga classes 20 years ago, I realized this is something individuals can do thoughout their lives. My main interest has been Ashtanga as I have seen over the years what this style can do for an individual. Downward Dog Yoga Centre, where I have studied is an Ashtanga based studio, but our training as well as many of their classes focus on getting the individual from beginner to the primary series. Therefore, I have experience in a more gentle flow of practice as well as the more rigorous style of Ashtanga. Our training consists of classroom study, many hours of asana teaching and practice, observation classes and practice teaching.
I was drawn to this style of yoga initially because of the physicality, however it is the spirituality that has kept me. I have experience with one on one teaching as well as beginner and level 1 classes and enjoy all equally.
