I have always been interested in health and wellness. From gymnastics to dance, and ice skating to soccer as a young girl, I have enjoyed moving my body in a variety of ways. I even earned the "I can do anything" award in junior high track. I continued with soccer, swimming, and cheerleading in high school, and stayed active with soccer for the most part through college and graduate school. Thereafter to stay active, I ran for fitness and participated in a number of road races, which lead to my passion for marathons, ultras, and triathlons (including 2 Ironmans!). I also became certified in Yoga and AFAA in group exercise, and have been teaching a variety of Yoga and fitness classes as well as personal training ever since. I have been blessed to help plan two Zumbathon events for my previous university, and a few Warrior Dashes for Washington Middle School in my town. I have been a guest speaker at various schools and business for various health and fitness topics, and have presented numerous times at school conferences. I have pushed individuals with special needs in strollers in different running races (through the organizations Ainsley's Angels and Team Triumph). I became a certified Health Coach in 2016, and certified running coach for youth and adults in 2017. I am an adjunct professor in Health and Wellness at 3 area colleges. I have authored 5 books and am the Vice President of the Dubuque Area Triathlon Club. I continue to grow and look beyond my current abilities and experience to see what else I could be a part of, which is what makes Fit Bodies, Inc. so interesting to me.
