Ray Smith

I have been teaching tennis since the fall of 1996. I started out at a city of Dallas public tennis facility and made the change to Country Club in Febuary of 1998. I have been USPTA certified since January of 1998. I worked at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas as an assistant professional and the assistant Jr. program director. I left Royal Oaks in the summer of 2002 to become the Director of tennis at Oaks Cliff Country Club in Dallas. My wife also is a tennis instructor and we were given opportunites in Greensboro, NC so we accepted the new jobs and moved there in March of 2003. In May of 2005 I accepted a new position as the Head Tennis Professional at Aberdeen Golf and Country Club in Boynton Beach, FL. We loved living in Florida but the hurricanes and the need to move closer to family has brought us back to Texas. After 2 years of being the Head Tennis Professional at Bay Oaks Country Club in Clear Lake, Texas, I was promoted to Athletic Director in charge of all tennis and fitness activities. I left Bay Oaks to be the Director of Tennis at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, TX. A staff of 5 rebuilt all programs and activities. In January of 2017 I left Bay Oaks to be the General Manager at Westheimer Indoor Tennis and Fitness. Here I will be in charge of a staff of 20 and will be directly involved with tennis and atheletic programming. I have a passion to serve others and love that I get to be active while I am doing it!!
