I started Crossfit in 2009 after starting out by running, then going to the gym.  I became bored with gym offerings and equipment, treadmills, and circuits. I wanted more but didn't know what it was.   I knew I was on the right track but riding the wrong vehicle.  Then I found Crossfit.  I was instantly hooked on the challenge, diversity, camaraderie, and scalability and  technical nature of the workouts. The variety is fun, the coaching is integral to progress, and progress is measurable.  The community challenges, supports and inspires you.  Even when you finish last its hard to feel bad with all the other members cheering you on.   I lost weight, gained muscle, my body transformed, and I became aware of the importance of nutrition.

This stuff has built confidence in me, and has proven to me that I can always push through, always survive, and don't need to back down or shy away from anything. Life changing.

I got CFL-1 certified in 2011 and began coaching under some pretty great mentors.  Since then I have coached groups and individuals as part of the Crossfit PEI and Crossfit 782 teams.  People undergo big changes like I did through Crossfit, getting fit and happy, and feeling strong.  Almost every week I see someone overcome a fear or barrier.

In 2014 I got Crossfit Kids certified, so I could bring my background in teaching, training, and working with kids into my coaching.  Our kids need the right start to promote lifelong activity and good movement for their better health.  I love that CFKids allows me to offer them that.  Now I train youth fitness in my own studio and with Boys and Girls Club of Charlottetown.
