KRYSIA MACIUSZKO, PhD, MN, RN, ERYT500

Krysia discovered yoga at One to One Fitness, in Cleveland, Ohio, thanks to Deanna Black in the year 2001. While working as a registered nurse in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit, she found yoga to be a great escape from the hectic and stressful environment of a level 1 trauma center hospital. Krysia began teaching ashtanga vinyasa yoga in 2003, boldly changing careers, immersing herself entirely into yoga.

Krysia has been positively influenced by many wonderful teachers, including: Dave Oliver, Cheryl Hall, John Salisbury, Alex Austin, Jenn Chiarelli, David Romanelli, Mimi Solaire, Bryan Kest, Steve Ross, Larry Schultz, Rodney Yee, Jorgen Christiansson, and Dharma Mittra. She believes that as long as your actions come from an intention of love and compassion, you can be sure that you are living authentically, that you are doing the right thing in life. Krysia seeks to end suffering and violence through yoga, meditation, and a peace-loving message.

Krysia was born January 12 in Cleveland, Ohio. During her childhood years, Krysia studied piano, viola, Polish, French, and art. She had a natural inclination toward expression through music, foreign language and sketching. Krysia began teaching exercise and fitness classes while still in college, at Baldwin Wallace in 1998. However, Krysia began her real self discovery through yoga, becoming a registered yoga instructor through At One Yoga in 2005. The study of ashtanga yoga allowed Krysia to unify the phsical body, with the mental body, with the spiritual body. It wasnt until Krysia made this connection, and was able to let go of inhibitions that Krysia later discovered self expression through dance. Krysia received her ZUMBA teacher training from Vanessa Lupercio, master trainer in Phoenix Arizona in 2008. Krysia then completed a second teacher training with Beto Perez, the originator and founder of ZUMBA in 2009. Krysia then went on to complete level 2 training with Gina Grant, education specialist and international ZUMBA presentor. Krysia is also certified in group exercise through the National Exercise Trainers Association, as well as being a Core Rhythms certified teacher, and a licensed Registered Nurse. Krysia's passion and love for ZUMBA are evident in her high energy and heartfelt playlist that she brings to every class. ZUMBA is special to me because it woke up a part of me inside that I thought had died. It awakens the root chakra, that very tribal and primal being inside each and every one of us. As Joseph Campell so eloquently said,I dont believe people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they are looking for the experience of being alive. So lets move our bodies, and feel alive.

Krysia's fun and upbeat classes are inspired by the philosophy of At One Yoga, uniting western culture's fasion, music, and technology, with eastern culture's sacred rituals and tradition. In class, the student can expect a challenging vinyasa flow, with positive, energizing music. With a heartfelt message, Krysia encourages her students to let go, surrender, and create a positive vibration in their body, mind, and spirit. Come to sweat, smile, and blissfully set yourself free.
