Fitness Center: responsibilities include orienting new members to strength training machines, cardio equipment, and free weight area. Cleaning of equipment and fitness environment is also performed. I currently head up the Personal FItness Program which is a 12 week program geared toward new exercisers or those who just want a more gradual pace to incorporate regular exercise and proper self-care into their hectic lives. Personal training: have trained both men and women. After hiring one of our personal trainers at my YMCA for 9 months, I gained much more insight to personal training than the certification course alone. Some of my clients are recovering from tragic accidents, trying to regain pre-pregnancy fitness or just need motivation for exercise. Water fitness: I currently teach Shallow, Deep and Senior water fitness classes averaging a total of 8 hours/week. Silver Sneakers: This class is developed with the YMCA and Secure Horizons Insurance. It has specific guidelines to maintain a great workout with minimal risk of injury to the participants. Some exercise is done while seated in a chair and some floor work. I was head lifeguard at the YMCA day camp in 2003. I guarded at our location, and would sub at other YMCA locations around the Oklahoma City Metro Area. Swim lessons: I taught parent/child (6 months to just under 3 years of age), preschool (3-5years of age), youth (6-12years of age) and teen/adult from the terrified of the water to the swimmer wanting to improve form and technique. I also taught the "Everybody in the Pool" program. I was the Special Olympics swim team coach for Cross TImbers Elementary School in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
