Morgan Abrams-Nicholas

I have been deeply engaged with the sport of tennis throughout my life, building a career and personal journey centered around the game. Growing up in the Richmond, Virginia area, I was a nationally ranked tennis player, competing at the highest levels of junior tennis. My passion for the sport led me to play Division I tennis, where I further honed my skills and developed a deeper understanding of the game. Recognizing my calling to make a career within tennis, I have been dedicated to contributing to the sport in meaningful ways.

I began teaching tennis at the age of 16, providing instruction to youth and adults at various locations while delivering professional, prompt, and impactful lessons. This early experience not only deepened my love for the sport but also laid the foundation for my future career. After earning a degree in Sports Management and Recreation, I joined World Team Tennis and the Washington Kastles in a Community Development role. My primary focus was to engage the community with tennis, fostering a broader fan base and promoting the sport to new audiences.

Following my tenure with World Team Tennis and the Washington Kastles, I was recruited by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to further develop and promote community programs for youth and adults within the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section, which oversees Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Over the years, I have played a pivotal role in implementing professional, impactful instruction and community engagement initiatives that cater to all levels of tennis enthusiasts, from beginners to advanced players. This work has expanded my expertise in program development and community outreach across the entire tennis ecosystem.

In addition to my professional endeavors, I have taken on leadership roles within the tennis community to further support and advance the sport. I serve on the Advisory Council for the USTA National Governing Body, contributing to the strategic direction and initiatives of tennis across the United States. I am also a member of the Board of Directors for the USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation, where I help guide efforts to make tennis accessible and impactful within our region.

My lifelong commitment to tennis, combined with my professional expertise and leadership roles, reflects my dedication to growing the game and fostering a love for tennis in others. Whether through coaching, community development, or organizational leadership, I remain passionate about making a lasting impact on the sport I have cherished throughout my life.
