Michelle Scherle

Hello there! My name is Michelle, and fitness has not only become my greatest passion in life... but my lifestyle.

Let's backtrack to 2007: I was a sophomore in college, 200+ pounds (40% body fat), lethargic, miserable and depressed. My first change on the path to a healthy future was my diet, but I didn't stop there. As I began to experiment with working out and taking fitness classes, I fell in love with the process of changing my mind and my body. I changed my major from elementary education to exercise science (with a pre-physical therapy emphasis), and became certified to instruct fitness classes and personal train others on the same path as myself.

In 2010, I had reached my goal and was proudly down to 120 pounds (18% body fat). I was so fired up and motivated to help everyone around me by promoting fitness, that I left my job at a corporate gym and opened up my own fitness studio. I met hundreds of women, men and children who came to me for a program to help them change their lives. It wasn't until 2011 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and in 2012 had to take a sabbatical for health reasons.

Late in the year of 2012, I got word that I was cancer-free (woo-hoo!) and I decided to move closer to family in southern California. What a beautiful experience it is to live in sunny San Diego! There I worked for a contracting company that hired me out to big corporations to work in their company gyms (I taught classes at campuses such as SONY and Qualcomm, to name a couple). In addition to working in corporate fitness, I also enjoyed coaching physical education for homeschooled children ages 5-12, instructing beach boot camps, and teaching classes from cycling to BODYPUMP at numerous gyms throughout the county.

Fast forward to this year, where I have moved to the relaxed state of Minnesota. Life may be pleasantly simple and laid-back in the midwest, but that doesn't stop me from getting around to adventure! So far in 2016 I have traveled to Japan where I hiked Mt. Fugi, I have canyoneered down the ridges of Arches National Park, I have backpacked my way down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and I plan to keep moving in the spirit of adventure and fitness!
