- Lisa Workman
International award winning exercise physiologist, Lisa Workman has been active in the
exercise profession for over 15 years. Her career has spanned many roles including a certified
exercise physiologist, fitness centre manager, fitness writer and presenter and
group exercise instructor. She is the creator of the Why I Move Project and
whyimove.com.
In addition to being a certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) and
Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA) Group Exercise
Leader and AFLCA Trainer of Leaders, Lisa is a Can-Fit-Pro Pre & Post Natal
Fitness Specialist, an Excel and Urban Poling Nordic Walking Instructor, and a Level
One Certified Hypopressive™ Instructor.
In 2015, Lisa was selected from nearly 1,000 nominations as a Life Fitness Global
Personal Trainer to Watch Top Ten Finalist, where she represented Canada in an international
competition in Barcelona, Spain. Lisa was also the 2012 recipient of the Alberta Certified
Exercise Physiologist Recognition Award and the 2010-2011 recipient of the University
of Alberta’s Campus Recreation Building Block Award.
Lisa sits on the editorial advisory board for the Alberta Centre for Active Living
WellSpring publication, the Alberta Centre for Active Living Research Advisory
Committee and the Nourish Move Thrive Advisory Group.
