Ashley Simone

Ashley Simone is a New York City-based yogi who began her vinyasa-based practice in 2010. She holds a 200-hour hatha yoga certification (Yoga Alliance ID:358190, exp. AUG 2026), which she received in 2016, and a 50-hour Yoga Sculpt from CorePower Yoga (March 2024). She is also a certified 30/60/90® trainer, an interval program established by Kristi Molinaro in New York.

Ashley teaches Vinyasa Flow and Yoga Sculpt, an athletic approach to yoga that is ashtanga-based and incorporates fundamental body conditioning exercises for toning the body. Her teaching also includes guided meditative breathwork (pranayama), wherein she coaches participants through breath control techniques that include Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing), Kapalabhati (skull-shining breath), and Bhramari (humming bee breath) to enhance mental clarity and physical well-being. Through practical exercises and gentle instruction, she guides participants through mindful breathing aimed at reducing stress and supporting overall health.

Ashley's specialty instruction ranges from Cardio Interval Training, based on her training in the 30-60-90 program (linked above), to wellness practice focused on nutrition for a calm body (anti-inflammation), based on her training in Autoimmune Protocol with Jamie Hartman, M.Ed., FNTP, to talks on art and architecture that draw on her training in architecture and work as a professor of architecture. In this latter regard, suggested programming may use the concept of flow, as seen in yoga, as a lens through which to introduce participants to modern and contemporary architecture that incorporates flow (all talks are accessible to a general audience with no experience with art and architecture).

Simone has been teaching fitness and practicing yoga for over 15 years (Pure Yoga, Equinox, Y7, CorePower Yoga, and Ashtanga Open Practice founded by Scott Harig) and approaches it as a fitness-oriented practice that is also meditative. She has taught yoga since receiving her certification in 2016 from Helen Cloots of the Floating Yoga School. Registration with the Yoga Alliance has been ongoing since 2021. Simone's classes often range from meditation and breathing practice to her signature style featuring rigorous vinyasa flows that are grounded in the ashtanga method and incorporate more traditional body conditioning exercises. A restorative approach is

She has taught around the Caribbean and Mexico with Fit Bodies and in New York City, Virginia Beach, and Uganda. In New York, she has taught with the Lululemon Community program and was the in-house resident yoga teacher at NEW INC from 2016-2020. She now primarily does private training.

During the summer of 2023, Simone continued her education in nutrition protocols with Jamie Hartman, M.Ed., FNTP of Gutsy By Nature, studying the three stages of autoimmune protocol, in other words, eating to reduce inflammation.

Beyond yoga and wellness practice, Simone writes about architecture and design and is an associate professor at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture in Brooklyn, New York.
