Jim brings a keen sense of humor, a warm supportive voice and over 50 years of yoga experience to his yoga classes. He is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT500) and Continuing Education Provider (CEP), a former member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and has a certificate in Teaching Yoga to Seniors.
Jim and his wife, Lynea, founded Still Moving Yoga studio in 1997 and Yoga Calm for Children in 2000. Yoga Calm's college-accredited courses and workshops have trained over 20,000 teachers, counselors, and therapists worldwide in how to teach yoga, mindfulness and social-emotional learning to children. And Still Moving Yoga, a Yoga Alliance School, Jim has Certified dozens of RYT-200 teachers and hundreds of instructors in its Teaching Yoga to Seniors course.
In addition to teaching adult yoga, Jim and his travel companions, Lynea and their granddaughter Anna (age 14), also love to teach kids Yoga Calm classes together. In addition to being a registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance, Lynea brings her 40+ years of elementary school teaching and counseling experience to their classes.
Jim also produced the online Teaching Yoga to Seniors course with Duke Medical Instructors and both he and Lynea are award-winning authors and publishers of yoga books, DVDs and CDs through their publishing company Three Pebble Press, LLC.
At the Winter Park National Sports Center for the Disabled, and as a yoga instructor, Jim has taught students of all ages and abilities. He has completed yoga teacher, yoga anatomy and therapy trainings through several internationally recognized yoga schools, including Sivananda, Iyengar and Anusara, and continues to expand his skills through training in multiple modalities.
