Toni Kettner

My journey to yoga began with a “leap of faith”  thta included a move and new job.  It was with this I discovered my love of the wonderful transforming qualities a yoga practice provides in terms of spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being.  I felt a calling to share yoga with others and in the process continue my own self-growth and transformation.   With yet another leap of faith, I enrolled in Body and Soul’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Transformation in March 2016 and graduated in December 2016.  The experience was powerful, inspiring, and invigorating.      

I am by trade a Registered Nurse with 30 years of experience throughout the continuum of care. A lifelong love of personal fitness, outdoor adventures, and the pursuit of knowledge led to my certification as a Personal Fitness Trainer with the American College of Exercise in June 2016.  My next journey stems from a lifelong interest in Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga.  With encouragement from my yoga and Pilates teachers, I enrolled in the Himalayan Institute’s Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist certification program and start coursework in January 2017.  My dream is to share my love and knowledge of yoga and Ayurveda with others through dosha balancing, asana practices, food awareness and lifestyle planning.

Our lives are incredibly hectic and my practice and teaching method lend themselves to focusing on grounding poses, pranayama (breath), and a slower flow. This creates space for the student to explore the deep connection between movement and breath which leads to powerful shifts in self-awareness, opens hearts and minds and changes lives. 

 I am co-founder of Yogi Treks. It is our dream to bring our love of yoga, travel and adventure to others. Have fun, be inspired, meet old and new friends, and Choose to be adventurous!
