About Kim Zegil, RN, BSN, E-RYT, LMBT#15634

Kim started practicing yoga in 2001 after the birth of her second child.  She came to the practice for a post partum physical alternative to her running and found a safe haven from the struggles and fear of having a disabled child.  Faith, ease, space and an inner strength began to grow on her mat.  Refuge.

In 2008, along with a good girlfriend, Kim created and opened Gotta Yoga Studio in the University area of Charlotte.  Gotta Yoga grew to expand to the Lake Norman and Mooresville areas and in this space Kim’s teaching developed to encompass not only powerful creative Vinyasa flows but also the more subtle styles of restorative, deep stretch and therapeutic based practices.

She also developed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training, Vinyasa Flow for All Bodies, and has graduated almost 200 students and sprung 7 studios in and around North and South Carolina.

Kim has been influenced and inspired by so many amazing beautiful teachers…Dolly Stavros Kaupp, Kristin Cooper-Gulak, Judith Lassiter, Cora Wren, Ana Forrest, Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman, Sean Corne, Carolyn Myss and many others.  Her own teachings reflect the present moment,  offerings of breath, quieting the mind, flow, mindfully keeping the physical body safe, love and often an easy light heart with laughter.

In 2014 Kim began to move towards more bodywork and energetic anatomy.  She has received certifications in ACE Massage Cupping, Thai Yoga Therapy, Reiki, Neuromuscular Medical Massage and the Sacred Hawaiian Healing practices of Lomi Lomi.
