Diane Rizzardo

Diane is a former UBC Varsity and Pro-am Women’s Whitecaps soccer player.  She has been a multi-sport athlete all her life, competing in field hockey, swimming, track and field, basketball, diving and figure skating. She understands an athlete’s drive to compete and her goal is to get every client back functioning at their highest level as soon as possible. Being sidelined by a significant soccer injury led her to discover Pilates Physiotherapy and she contributes it’s wholistic approach to her successful return to sport.

Pilates Physiotherapy is not only an ideal rehabilitation tool for anyone post abdominal injury or surgery (ex: hernia or C-section) but also for treating knee, ankle or shoulder injuries as well as back pain. Diane’s background in sport allows her to use sport specific exercises grounded in Pilates and manual therapy techniques to treat the whole body.  Her focus is to rehabilitate current injuries as well as to prevent further injuries from occurring, improving overall sport/fitness performance, and helping her clients attain their personal health goals.

Diane is back to playing soccer, but has developed a love of running and has excelled in half marathons, middle distance sprints, and trail running.  She has competed both locally and internationally.  She loves to hit the Vancouver running paths, both in the city and on our local mountains. A fitness class with friends, a hike, a game of tennis, or any other challenge that comes her way makes her day.

Whether you’re a competitive athlete, a recreational enthusiast, a soon-to-be or postpartum mom, or just someone looking for a way to repair and prevent injuries Diane looks forward to working with you to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.
