I first walked into a yoga studio in January of 2006. I had tried so many forms of group exercise and I just didn’t care for any of them. The first few yoga classes were really challenging; yet, I found the challenge to be achievable with the encouragement and space given freely by the teachers. In yoga, we are taught that it is a practice and it isn’t a competition. As time passed, I learned to accept who I was each day and in each moment. Some days I was full of energy and was amazed by all my body could do and other days, I took it easy and learned to honor the gentleness my body needed. I have found yoga to be a practice of the physical body but more importantly a practice of my mental clarity. Yoga is the most profound quiet space of moving meditation that has taught me how to calm my busy mind.
I believe that people are capable of more than they imagine both personally and professionally. As your teacher, it is my personal intention to inspire and support you towards imagining and realizing your true potential both on and off your mat. I will do this by encouraging you, being patient and challenging your beliefs that no longer serve you.
When you attend a vinyasa class that I teach, you will find a class that will be physically and mentally demanding. My classes will be both vigorous and quiet to allow your mind the space it needs to work through the physical and mental challenges that arise. You will find personal power through vinyasa flow and you will stimulate your mind when you hold a difficult pose, past the time when you just want to quit. Your physical body will assist you in activating and imagining all that is YOU!
When you attend a restorative class that I teach, you will find a class that is calming to your nervous system. We have so much outside stimulation in our world, it is so healthy to go to a place that is both quiet and still. It allows our body, mind and soult to heal and renew.
