Marisa received her classical pilates certification 14 years ago through Power Pilates and has worked in studios throughout Greater Boston, Southern New Hampshire and even Greater Toronto. Marisa's pilates instruction specializes in movement for exercise and to achieve improvement in posture, core strength and neurological conditions. Some areas of special interest include: Pink Ribbon Certified to regain mobility post-surgery, Osteoporosis (prevention and possible reversal), Teens (worked with dancers from the Boston Ballet and teens looking to increase core strength and stamina in sports, poor posture or back issues), Special Cases (improving balance, injuries, sciatica, pain, neurological disorders; creating neurological pathways to regain movement, pre/post surgery preparation and strengthening).
Marisa is a Boston native who attended the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and graduated in 2017 with high honors. She has been working on individual case studies for three years and recently had one published for educational material at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Marisa's nutrition practice is unique as it focuses on a person's individual needs to attain vitality and health. Marisa specializes in digestive health with a focus on special dietary needs such as eating for ADHD, diabetes type 2, hormone balance, sports nutrition, food allergies and sensitivities and celiac.
Marisa graduated from Emerson College in 1998 with a BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing and a minor in Psychology. She has worked at various publications including The Boston Business Journal, Fidelity Investments Publishing, plus interned at New Age and Natural Health magazines.
