Kelsey Brookner

Consultant by day, Yogi by night. I started my own journey with yoga and fitness 10 years ago.

We live in a social media world, full of "best self (or selfies :)" It can be frustrating to anyone to look on social medial and feel like you were somehow left behind or aren't on the right path because everyone else is married, having kids, buying a house, etc. I struggled in my twenties thinking I was doing something wrong, because I wasn't in the same place that society told me I needed to be. I found myself doubting my abilities and taking for granted the things that I did have. Ultimately it led me down a path depending on anxiety and depression medication to get through the days.

I decided to take a leap of faith and register for my RYT 200 Yoga Certification. I found that learning about what the body does and how it reacts to stress and our enviroment really plays a part in how we can react towards those emotions going forward. The physical benefits of yoga are endless. Focusing on breath, movement while incorporating your mind, body and soul is something that I never understood until I started practicing Yoga. At the end of my RYT 200 I was no longer dependent on medication-- I found a solution in regular practice of Yoga.

What I love about yoga the most is that it is truly accessible to anyone. There is no experience required to become a yogi. A open heart and a willingness to try and leave your ego at the door is what makes a student truly successful. When you are traveling on vacation, you are there to relax and reset. Yoga is the perfect way to start a day, end a afternoon or re energize for an evening out.

I am a cheerleader for all of my students. You can expect a challenging workout, but also a fun, carefree and judgement free enviroment. I also provide hands on assists and adjusts to ensure that the students safety is my number one priority. I end class with a refreshing savasana experience, including aromatherapy and quotes or themes so that the student can reflect on their experience as class winds  down.

I believe that we have so much to give in the world, but we aren't living up to our fullest potential because we are scared or afraid that we aren't good enough. Yoga has taught me that this isn't the case at all. Our dedication to ourselves is the first step in becoming truly in harmony with our mind, body and spirit.
