Born in Green Bay, WI, I was an athlete since youth. Primarily basketball, I played on the high school team as well as coached elementary-school hopefuls in Bitty Ball workshops.
After high school, I attended and graduated from the two-year Computer Engineering program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. I landed my first job in Destin, Fla., as an IT engineer. After two years, I wanted to get closer to family. I moved up to Ohio and worked for American Electric Power, also as an IT engineer, before finding CrossFit. I re-entered school and graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Business Management.
I married my wife and had our son. Wanting to be even closer to family, we moved to Milwaukee for my new IT engineer position. At that time, I was gaining experience in the CrossFit coach realm, before single-handedly opening Badger CrossFit. After a year of working two jobs, I quit the IT world to focus on fitness and run my gym full-time.
