I discovered my love for Yoga back in 1999 when I was living in Florida. Being a competitive swimmer for over 18 years and currently part of a masters swim team locally, yoga has been the yin to my yang all these years with maintaining balance in life; physically, mentally and spiritually.
When I suffered a knee injury from skiing in 2007, I wanted natural alternative options vs machines, as part of my three month prep prior to surgery. I was living in Boston at the time and my doctor wanted me to build the muscle back up around the fracture prior to any surgery being performed. It was then I resorted to my inner core strengths of swimming and yoga (with approved modifications of course), as those were the two alternative methods I felt would benefit me the most. As a result, I never did end up needing the surgery as my knee was 99.9% rebuilt through the natural healing and alternative therapy process I had chosen... even the doctor was amazed, but thrilled surgery wasn't the solution!
Since, I have attended many workshops along the way through traveling and classes of various levels, talent and offerings with each providng a positive and different experience for me. I always come out stronger than when I go in and that's quite empowering which is when I decided to complete the VINYASA High Peaks Teacher Training. Having a strong swimming and yoga background I feel is a great reward and formula for living a healthy lifestyle. I am so proud to be able to help and support others achieve their goals through their life long journey near and far.
