Movement has always been in my life. Starting with ballet. I trained at the College of The Royal Academy of Dancing, London in 1992. I taught ballet for many years and had my own ballet school in Dublin, Ireland. In late 1998 my husband, young daughter and I decided to move to FL, USA and we have been here since. I continued to teach ballet here before I trained in Zumba which then led me to all sorts of fitness certifications.
I am a certified yoga teacher RYT 200 registered with Yoga Alliance since 2016. I am a Group Fitness Instructor registered with AFAA since 2014 and a Certified Personal Trainer registered with NASM since 2018. I completed Balanced Body Mat Pilates 1 in 2017 and i love to add pilates core exercises to all my classes.
Currently, I teach approximately 6 classes per week. My classes consist of a variety of yoga styles, including Yoga Fusion (mix of pilates and yoga); Vinyasa; Yoga Tone (with bands or hand weights) and Gentle Yoga. I also teach 2 group fitness classes per week. One is outside on beach and is circuit style using a toning ball and the other class is indoors with more equipment so I do resistance training and cardio intervals. This summer (2024) I am enjoying teaching an "Aqua Workout" with noodles (or water dumbbells) two mornings a week. This class is held in swimming pool in waist to chest height water.
I have been teaching ballet and fitness combined for over 30 years and still love it! I make my classes fun with appropriate planned music and travel with a Blue Tooth speaker and light weight exercise props.
I love to be outdoors. Hobbies include many forms of working out, tennis, gardening, travel and languages (Spanish). I love to meet new people and consider myself a good listener, easy going and engaging!
