Ellen Sanders

I discovered yoga in 2003 while going through a transitionary period in my life. While at first yoga was primarily a form of exercise, it quickly became a way for me to slow down enough so I could just be. It then became the foundation for spirituality in my life. From early on in my practice, I knew I wanted to become an instructor, but it wasn’t until becoming a regular practitioner at Hummingbird, that I felt the time, place, and circumstances of my life were aligned to make it a reality. I graduated from Hummingbird's 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program in February, 2017. In addition, I am also certified to teach Recovery Yoga, having completed Hummingbird's NECTAR (Nurturing Energy Cultivates Trauma & Addiction Recovery) Training in March, 2017.

As an instructor, I hope to share how my experiences with yoga have influenced my own personal transformation and help make that accessible to others.

I am comfortable teaching in Beginner and Intermediate level classes, either at a slow or fast pace. I pay special attention to proper alignment to ensure students are safe in a posture. My goal for each of my students is to have them enjoy the movement yoga provides and feel a connectedness to self and breath.

I specialize in All Levels, Gentle, Restorative, and Aqua Yoga classes.
