Emilie Young

I am a 25 year old classial pilates instructor and former school teacher. I grew up in a mid-sized city in North Carolina. I studied visual art in college and I have taught art in a public school for three years, while pursuing my comprehensive pilates certification and then began teaching pilates part-time. Pilates has been my passion ever since I discovered it in 2012. It has been almost six years that I have been practicing and now teaching pilates, and my love for the pilates method only grows stronger. I aspire one day to open a pilates studio in my home town and so I am beginning to transfer my energy towards pilates instruction, while also working towards a certification in Gyrokinesis. However, I feel that I need a bit more adventure (life and professional experience) before I am ready to take on this endeavor. I have always had a love for travel and enjoy spending time in new places. Whenever I travel (within the United States or abroad), my pilates mat and small exercise equipment are the first items to in my bag. The school where I worked for the past three years was a school entirely for ESL education, so I met many amazing individuals from many different countries. In this exciting, yet transitional stage of my life, I am looking not only for adventure, but also for an opportunity to teach grow in my area of passion and expertise (Pilates). I am also looking forward to calling myself a certified Gyrokinesis instructor within the year.
