Dave Barrett

Dave Barrett Ph.D., C.S.C.S. Dave is a faculty member at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA. Dave also teaches at Minnesota State University – Mankato and CenterPoint School of Massage Therapy in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dave teaches activity courses. These include Tennis, Golf, Weight Training, and BOSU and stability ball training. He also teaches lectures courses in the Department of Kinesiology. Some lecture courses that he teaches include Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, and Foundations of Personal Training. Dave also holds many fitness certifications from internationally recognized associations. These include National Strength and Conditioning Association - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Certified Personal Trainer and American Council on Exercise – Personal Trainer. Dave also gives tennis lessons as a USTA – Teaching Pro. He is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, National Academy of Sports Medicine, and the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Dave also works as a personal trainer for a private business in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA. His clientele includes people of all ages and fitness goals. Some of these people are training for an athletic event, while others are performing rehabilitative exercises. Some of Dave’s past training experiences have led him to work with some "elite" clients during his career as a trainer. He has provided fitness training to astronauts at NASA, speed and strength development to professional basketball players with the San Antonio Spurs, and flexibility and strength training to golfers with the PGA. While Dave is not working with others in their fitness pursuits, he enjoys marathons, tennis, golf, extreme downhill skiing and baseball.
