My name is Carina, and I am aspiring individual that recently became a student of the Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi Kinesiology Graduate Program. I graduated from the Island University in August of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and an emphasis in Exercise Science. The dry and hot West Texas city called Odessa is where I call home. My hometown is known for hot days, and Friday night high school football. My family and I are proud Permian Panther alumni, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fanatics.
I first attended the Island University in the fall of 2013 with a major in Kinesiology, and an initial emphasis in Physical Therapy. My first semester was completed and that is when I scheduled an appointment with my advisor to change to Exercise Science. My passion for coaching and physical training was thriving. I knew that this would be the best route to get where I want to be in the future.
The past three years at Texas A&M-CC has been an exceptional learning experience. I have developed many assets and skills in order to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. I am finished with completing an internship at Results- Personal Training regarding training and nutrition consulting. In the future I hope to obtain a stable strength and conditioning coaching job located in a sports performance facility. My long-term goal is to open up a strength and conditioning gym of my own. I strive to build individuals mentally and physically through physical training. My greatest strengths are in verbal communication and building rapport. I plan to use these strengths to my advantage in order to create a larger network that will help fulfill my career goals.
