Kelly Keesler

Kelly stumbled upon Pilates as a means of staying fit and active during her college years after spending long hours in a computer chair studying graphic design. After completing her BA in graphic design Kelly moved back to her home city, NYC, and soon found herself craving the benefits of Pilates enough to quit her desk job and become a full-time Pilates instructor. Kelly is classically and comprehensively certified through Core Pilates NYC, under Kim Villanueva, trained through the Power Pilates Education program which evolved from Romana Kryzanowska’s original Pilates studio. Kelly began her career in Pilates in 2012 but has been an athlete practicing movement since her early days as a gymnast and dancer as a young girl. It was only natural that Kelly gravitate towards Pilates as her preferred exercise routine in her immediate years after college, as the focus on precise movement and the mind-body connection appealed to her senses. Pilates was more than a workout to Kelly, it was a choreographed sequence that not only kept her attention, but kept her fit. She was delighted to find a workout method that involved more than mindless running on a treadmill, but rather focused concentration on really feeling the muscle groups she was strengthening and working. Kelly feels that bringing awareness to your body, in particular, learning how to isolate specific muscle groups, is one of the most physically rewarding and ‘a-ha’ moments Pilates can give you. She now shares her love of Pilates with her private clients and through teaching classes in New York City. Kelly is also certified in Pre and Post-Natal Pilates and the Lagree FitnessTM method, an exercise method performed on the Megaformer, an innovative take on the original reformer that transforms and sculpts the entire body with cardio-infused pilatesesque exercises.

Kelly’s light-hearted and highly motivational approach to teaching encourages her clients to give their all, no matter their experience level, and leads to satisfying results and progress on a daily basis. Kelly enjoys explaining the Method as she teaches encouraging her clients to understand what each exercise’s purpose is and why we move the way we do, but also maintains a healthy amount of laughter in her sessions as well. After all, laughter is one of the best core exercises out there!
