Debbie Medellin

My passion has always been dance based exercise.  Starting in Elementary school, I was introduced to Square dancing, tap and ballet.  In Junior High and Senior High School I became a dancer on the dance team that performed with the marching band.  I pursued a career in teaching Chemistry and Anatomy Physiology and have always been fascinated by the workings of the human body.  After my kids grew up and became independent, I decided to start an official "fitness career" in order to help others stay in shape.  I started working at LA Fitness in 2010 and soon found myself in several of the high end country clubs in the Palm Beach Florida area.  Crunch fitness came to our area three years ago and I became the fitness coordinator there.  Within a year, we opened a second location in the Fort Lauderdale area.  For the past three years, I have continued teaching my own 10 hours of exercise classes each week while auditioning, hiring, and training a team of over 50 instructors at the two Crunch locations and teaching three hours of Chemistry and/or Anatomy classes at Berean Christian School.

My favorite format to teach is a mix between cardio and sculpting for both land based and water based classes.  I also feel it necessary to adequately stretch following any type of exercise in order to give the body the correct stresses and stretching required for great long term health.  I incorporate variety in my teaching by offering "theme based" classes including sports themes, latin moves, retro jazzercise, kickboxing, etc. all of which I use "theme based music" in order to achieve the fun and entertainment aspect of the classes.

I am looking forward to expanding my fitness enthusiasm and my love for travel together by joining Fit Bodies, Inc.
