Jennifer Egan

Jen Egan’s background includes a Michigan Professional Certificate in K – 12 Physical Education (MB), 6 – 12 Health Education (MA), K – 12 Adapted Physical Education (SP) and K – 12 School Counseling (NT).  She attended Western Michigan University for her undergraduate degree and Oakland University for her Masters. She is  a recent graduate of the Gerstacker Fellowship and had  the opportunity to study in Poland in Finland. She is currently enrolled in the Director of Special Education Program at Saginaw Valley State University. Jennifer has served as the President of the Michigan Association of Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance (now known as SHAPEMI) and continues to volunteer her time for the organization. Throughout her career Jen has been recognized with the following accolades: Western Michigan University Human Performance and Health Education Honor Alumni Academy -2014, Midwest American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year - 2012, Midwest AAHPERD Young Innovator Award -2009, SHAPEMI  Adapted Physical Education Teacher of the Year - 2008 Western Michigan University Presidential Scholar – 2003, and National Association of Sport and Physical Education Major of the Year – 2003.  Jennifer has a passion for the fitness industry that began fifteen years ago during her time at WMU. She had the joy and honor of running the Group Fitness and Personal Training Department.  Jen is an AFAA certified instructor and believes given the right tools, adaptations,  and motivation every person can live a healthy lifestyle.  People working with Jen say her passion is contagious and she won’t give up until the GOAL has been met.  Come check out her class and get READY to WORK. In her free time Jen enjoys coaching Special Olympics and participating in adventure races.
