Lucia Florindez is an AFAA certified and Zumba licensed group fitness instructor. As a former Zumba enthusiast and serial go-getter, Lucia is known for her infectious energy and inviting nature when teaching classes. Lucia’s path to the front of the class grew out of her own personal success with weight loss and her desire to share Zumba, the best known “exercise in disguise,” with others. Her favorite part of living a fit life is getting to know her students and partaking in the impromptu pow-wows before and after class where people talk about their own fitness journeys.
As a professional research assistant and student of life, Lucia’s fitness certifications also include: AFAA strength training, CPR/AED and Lifeguarding with the Red Cross, and aqua fitness. In the Zumba Fitness world, she is licensed in Zumba Basic 1 and 2, Zumba Sentao (Zumba fitness that uses a chair to incorporate toning elements to choreography), Zumba Kids and Zumba Kids Jr., Aqua Zumba (a high energy pool workout), Zumba Gold (Zumba for active elders or those new to working out) and most recently, Strong by Zumba, a high intensity tempo training workout. Lucia is also fluent in Spanish and happy to converse with you about a variety of fitness topics including diet, nutrition, exercise modifications and personalized work out ideas.
When she’s not dancing up a storm in fitness class, you can find Lucia in the USC library working towards her PhD in Occupational Science or enjoying meaningful moments with those closest to her. She loves soccer, finding new, fun places to eat in LA, and a good latte. Lucia believes your best weapon is your smile, so lock and load, lace up those dancing feet, and get ready to sweat!
