Dr. Derek Price

At home in Arizona, Dr. Price keeps many irons in the fire to include his multiple multidisciplinary medical offices along with his CrossFit Gyms and Consulting Practice. Derek finds time to train daily with his friends and family while carving out additional time to prepare him for his personal endurance and functional fitness such as Ironman Triathlons, CrossFit Competitions and Alcatraz Open water swim races. That being said his number one focus is set squarely on his beautiful wife Heather and his three amazing daughters Kylie, Hailey and Sadie.

Dr. Price’s wife is a former Mesa Community College and Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader. The two met each other on the campus of MCC in 1991. Heather Price also served as a Student Council Representative for MCC from 1991-1993. Derek and Heather were married in 1997 and are still together. Derek and Heather’s daughters have excelled on their own with Kylie (14) earning National recognition for Olympic Weight lifting and Swimming. Hailey (12) has achieved early success in the pool as well and both Kylie and Hailey serve as Student Body President to their respective schools, (Highland High School and High Land Jr. High School). Sadie (8) is following in Heather’s footsteps and is competitive in Club Dance.

Dr. Price’s is a multiple sport letter man from Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, AZ where he held the honor of team captain for his track team of which he was All-State in the 400m along with honors for his football accomplishments.  His football career led him to accept a scholarship to MCC in 1991. After his first season he declined scholarship offers to numerous schools to play one more season at MCC under new coach David Rice. He was fortunate to achieve a high level of success earning many awards and accolades (listed below) in football. After the 1992 season at MCC Derek earned a scholarship to the University of Iowa and followed by a career in the NFL to play for the Detroit Lions. His time in the NFL was cut short due to a severe neck injury which required career ending surgery. Derek wasted no time post NFL departure getting his life on a new track and promptly enrolled into Life University College of Chiropractic. Dr. Price graduated with Honors and continues to pursue a rewarding career in the medical field both treating patients and consulting physicians.

Derek found a program called SEALFIT by chance while in conversation with other SEALs after winning his division at the Super Frog Triathlon in Coronado California. Seeking challenges in the relentless pursuit of personal growth Dr. Price enrolled in a Navy SEAL Hell Week administered by current and former SEALS. Dr. Price was selected Honor Man of Class 17 and was awarded an entry intern position with the SEALFIT team. Dr. Price worked tirelessly putting in his time and now finds himself in the most Senior Cadre position available in the organization. After witnessing the life changing effects such a challenge has on a person, Derek made it his personal mission to continue on as Cadre and is currently proud to be one of a very small population of Certified SEALFIT Kokoro Coaches that administers SEALFIT camps around the world.  Some notable SEALFIT coaching pursuits include University of South Alabama, St. John Bosco High School, Nike along with multiple Law enforcement groups, high school and collegiate sports teams. Derek has served as Sr. Cadre for more than 20 HELL WEEK simulations with the SEALFIT group.

Dr. Price has built a large CrossFit Competition event production group and has held benefit events throughout the years for numerous causes to include Autism Awareness, Juvenile Diabetes, Women’s Health, Pediatric Cancer and many others.

Currently Dr. Price owns and operates a beautiful Sports Orthopedic Medical Clinic complete with numerous specialties. His personal hobbies include Team Roping and any fitness event that comes his way. His wife and children remain his focus and pride in life and he looks forward to witnessing their ongoing success.
