I started practicing yoga in 1997 and quickly recognized the clarity of mind and stress relief a regular practice developed. Initially practicing kundalini yoga, I gravitated toward Hatha yoga in 2004. In 2012, I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training and have since enjoyed teaching power yoga, hot yoga, flow yoga and alignment-based yoga. Continuous learning has been an important element of my journey, whether it be through self-study and reading about yoga philosophy and history or workshops with instructors like Tiffany Cruikshank to explore arm balances and inversions.
I enjoy encouraging students to explore various aspects of their practice, in particular the connection with the breath, building self-awareness and the meditative quality of their practice, one that is uniquely theirs. I'm is also excited to be a member of the faculty of the YTT program at The Yoga and Wellness Studio, contributing to and learning from, soon to be yoga teachers.
