I was a fitness enthusiast for years before a dramatic job loss gave me the push I needed to become an instructor.  This is the first time in my professional career I can honestly say I have a job that I LOVE!

I majored in Broadcasting and Policital Science at Marquette University, and started on the career path of non profit fundraising when I graduated in in 1996.  I was able to stay home full time when my sons were little- they are now 14, 12 and 7!

Between the births of #2 and #3 I started training for and competeing in sprint distance trathalons, mostly as a way to lose the baby weight.  I supplemented my outdoor training with group cyclling and bootcamp classes at the YMCA, and I LOVED it.  After the birth of #3 I ended my "triathalon career" but kept up my weekly YMCA habit, even when returning to non-profit fundraising in a part time capacity.

I started working at the YMCA when my last non-profit job went south.  One of my long-time favorite group fitness instructors said "you could totally do this!"  I didn't believe her... but I did it anyway!  I started out teaching a Monday morning bootcamp and I was TERRIFIED.  I practiced for a month before my first class!

From that fatefull start in 2015 I have been given opportunities to grow and expand my fitness knowledge and experience. I LOVE working at the Y.  Our diverse membership keep me challenged and entertained everyday.
