After graduating with a B.A. in Psychology and Communications from the University of Denver, I moved to Aspen, CO, where I spent the past five years, working as an environmental educator, journalist, ice hockey coach, ski instructor and yoga teacher. Looking for a change of pace and a new adventure, I decided to move to Asia shortly thereafter, working and traveling in and around Thailand. After struggling with various health issues while living in these areas of the world, it became clear how important of a role food, herbs, health and fitness played in my everyday life. This integral experience acted as a catalyst in my journey towards exploring more alternative healing modalities through nutrition and yoga. I have a great deal of passion for helping others achieve balance through the art of movement & stretching, in combination with using food and herbs as medicine. I hold a very active and energetic demeanor and wish to spread this way of being to those around me!
When I was a yoga teacher, I worked privately with clients I would teach skiing to while living and working in Aspen, CO as a ski instructor. Currently, I am not teaching regularly at at a studio, but practice 5-6 times a week. As for tennis, I have taught it to kids ages 7-17 during the summer at a Nike Tennis Camp at Massachuestts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. In the application, I also ticked off 'dietitican' because I am a certified herbalist and nutritionist and have had multiple hours working clinically at our school clinic. I currently reside in Boulder, CO and am dedicating my time to taking pre-med prerequisites to apply to Naturopathic Medical School in the near future.
