Wow. Where to begin... I haven't written a biography in years. I am currently a single mom, teaching yoga full time, and doing on the side Spanish/English translating and interpreting. The road that brought me to this particular juncture is definitely a path that began as the easy, "normal" one, and turned into, unexpectedly "the one less traveled." I grew up in the Dallas, TX area (outside, in Highland Village). I was involved in pointe ballet and long distance running until I graduated from high school. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish, with a minor in Education and English Literature. I am a certified high school teacher, which I did for 5 years while going to night school at the University of North Texas to get my Master's Degree in Counseling. I was a high school counselor for 6 years until I had my daughter, and decided to stay at home part time with her (enter yoga and translator certifications). I have traveled extensively in Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, and spent long vacations in Argentina, where my in-laws live. My husband and I separated when my daughter was a baby, and subsequently divorced. I turned back to my yoga practice in a more serious manner, and mended a broken soul, heart and life's dream with multiple practices a day, crying during savasana, and ultimately producing a better version of myself than I had ever experienced before. Isn't life funny like that? I feel like yoga finds us in those moments... so many common threads. I dream of being able to travel with my mom (who has moved in with us now), and my daughter, as much as possible. My daughter is 3 years old, and already eager to be a yogi. I am convinced that experiences, paths, people, energies, find us when we need them and are ready for them. I am exceedingly happy with my current phase in life, and grateful for all of the blessings I have received, and continue to receive.
