Dance has always been my sport. Staring at the age of 4, I've taken ballet, tap, jazz, modern dance, and belly dance classes. I captained a competitive dance team and eventually came to dance fitness after the birth of my 3 children. I've also had arthritis since I was a teenager, so I know very well how hard it can be to find time, motivation and desire to overcome pain and physical limitation and maintain a level of activity crucial to staying strong, fit and able.
I am also a public librarian, and I see the great need in my community for barrier-free access to fitness activities for all ages. My background in dance, my vocation for public service and the needs of my community all led me to become a licensed Zumba© instructor. I am offering Basic, Gold (for active older adults), and Kids classes at my library, and hope to expand those offerings through outreach to local assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
