Tennis Coaching Philosophy and Objectives
My professional tennis coaching philosophy is based on the premise that learning and improving at tennis should be “fun” for people of all ages, skill levels and backgrounds. Tennis is a complex “open skill” sport that involves movement/foot-work, agility, balance, hand-eye coordination, and concentration just to names a few important attributes. Effective coaches motivate their learners and help them acquire and master skills through a process of guided self-discovery. I adhere to Tennis Canada’s “global approach” which incorporates tactical, technical, physical, and psychological elements to build a complete skill set to enjoy tennis.

Tips
Approach tennis as a “game for life” J Develop your own “game style” based on your personality and physical attributes. The assistance of a qualified teaching professional will help you learn to enjoy tennis more as you improve all aspects of your game. There are lots of great reasons to play tennis such as meeting new people and socializing around the game, getting exercise, and competing. Try to avoid “comparing” yourself to others and enjoy the aspects of the games that appeal to you personally.
