After falling in love with Zumba as a student for 2 years, in 2012 I decided to get licensed and have been teaching ever since. I am licensed in Zumba Basic, Aqua and Toning. I am an Independent Instructor and teach all my classes at local school gyms. I averate 30- 40 in each class with a record number of 72 squeezing in one night. I host 2 Zumbathons a year, one for Pancreatic Cancer and one for Breast Cancer, and have generally over 100 in attendance. This summer I was awarded the "Main Street Wilson County" Award for Zumba and my Plate by Zumba Nutrition Class I teach. The award is determined by Wilson Post newspaper readers and nominees are voted on. I had no idea I was nominated to start with and then to win was incredible. My Zumba Community is a Sponsor of a 5K Glow Run in our town and we bought a piece of play equipment for the new local dog park. I believe in giving back to my community and I am fortunate to have a community that backs me up. I teach 7 Zumba Classes per week and last year became a certified POUND PRO. I teach 3 POUND Classes per week as well.
After losing my mom to Pancreatic Cancer, I became dedicated to changing my lifestyle and getting healthy so I do not die young. I am passionate about helping my students learn good nutrition habits and helping make fitness a part of their lifestyle so they can live long, healthy lives.
