I really came to yoga after developing chronic lower back pain in 2003 as a result of becoming totally obsessed with the physical practice of yoga and doing a lot of the postures incorrectly! This injury led me to analyse my body (and my ego!) in depth and I discovered clear imbalances and weaknesses. I was then motivated to deepen my knowledge of the human body and the restorative side of yoga culminating in my attaining my 200hr RYT certification with the well-established and respected Yoga Campus in London.
I am heavily influenced by Doug Keller and Gary Kraftsow and my classes are a fusion of simple, slow flowing yoga sequences and restorative postures. Set in an open, non-competitive environment, I aim to create a supportive, calming and energising atmosphere that ultimately leads my students to understand their own unique body and what they are capable of.
Yoga to me is about creating balance, strength and stability in your body and calming the mind. It is a moving meditation which focuses on the breath and as result stills my mind. It is also therefore an amazing form of stress-relief that I want to share with everyone.
