Summary of  Professional Experience

Traci is a nationally recognized mental health expert, speaker, writer, and entrepreneur. She began her career in England in 1992 and holds degrees from universities both in the UK and the USA. She is the founder of Vibrant Health Company and its related brands. She maintains a full-time private practice, which includes an innovative virtual clinic (one of the first ever established in Michigan) that has been part of several national research studies on emerging practices. She has specialties in trauma, addictions and sex ed. Stigma free and GSD competent, her unique brands and groundbreaking written materials encourage all persons to reach their potential through self-help, professional counseling and the pursuit of the best wellness possible in spite of age, injury and illness. Traci was recently appointed as a reviewer on the Editorial Team of one the world’s largest, free online mental health resources https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/ 

Heavily influenced by a holistic perspective, Traci consistently researches nutrition and alternative approaches to health. This research informs her practice. A Master’s prepared clinician, she also holds advanced credentials in various specialties. She maintains certifications/ licenses in 6 fitness formats and instructs students in her hometown, living out the conviction that mind-body approaches offer the most effective pathway to mental health.

 

Education

Traci has a BA(Hons) in Psychology from the University of Sheffield, England. She has an MSW from Western Michigan University. She holds a CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor) credential. She was inducted as a member of the American Academy for Experts in Traumatic Stress in the early 2000’s. Multiple fitness certifications. 

 

Philosophy on Mental Health and Wellness

Wellness is a lifelong journey that is punctuated by struggle, illness, injury, obstacles and oftentimes, trauma. No human being escapes the reality of suffering. It’s something we can all relate to. It’s something we can survive, too! I believe in the resilience of human nature, the power of connection with others, the importance of loving who you are and the value of vulnerability. It’s crucial that we don’t underestimate how simple pleasures such as a good laugh, a good meal or a beautiful sunrise can boost our ability to cope. I understand that some persons will have chronic mental health issues that are incapacitating for years, while others will experience anxiety and depression only temporarily. Whatever the case, I meet my clients and readers where they are with compassion and understanding, as well as the belief that I am here to learn from them. My overarching philosophy is “We are in this together. Let’s see what we can get done.”
