Mairin Matthews

Mairin began practicing yoga in high school, but it wasn't until she received her 200 hour Teacher Training at Marianne Wells Yoga School that she began to weave yoga into her daily life.  Drawn to yoga by the mind-body awareness and self care practice, she quickly became inspired by the equinimity it brought to her life and felt a call to share this with others. With 10 years of working in classrooms, Mairin has brought yoga to students and has piloted a full time yoga and mindfulness program in a K-6 school in Philadelphia.  Mairin believes that yoga is for every body and that we should teach people, not poses.  Her kids and adult classes are filled with fun sequencing, empowering movement, alignment focus, and self love. She strongly believes that we all have happiness within us- yoga just helps us find it.
