Amanda Robinson is a writer, historian, professor, mom, and lover of life. A Canadian at heart, she believes in kindness, empathy, and the resilience of the human spirit. She completed her undergraduate degree in History and Anthropology at the University of Toronto in 2008, a Master of Arts at York in 2010, and is currently working toward the completion of her PhD in History at York.
Amanda began her yoga journey as a way to exercise and improve her mobility. This came to mean something more when she was faced with the debilitating effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. She has been practicing yoga since 2010, and teaching as a certified instructor since 2013 in various studios in the Greater Toronto Area.
Yoga has delivered her grace, forgiveness, and peace. It encourages the mind and spirit to slow down, find a sense of home, and savor each precious moment on this journey called life. Travel yoga brings a heightened level of fulfillment, discovery, and connection with the world around us. Maya Angelou has famously said in her poem, The Human Family, that while we encounter differences of experience, "we are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike."
Helping others on their own yogic path brings Amanda joy and fulfillment. She looks forward to supporting students with compassion and empathy, and making new friends and developing fresh perspectives on this international journey.
