My name is Missy Conley. I'm currently a part-time fitness instructor at the most prominent health & fitness clubs in Indianapolis. I have been very fortunate in my career to work within the most prestigious and innovative health clubs in the Midwest. I currently occupy "prime time" slots in the following formats: Kickboxing (TurboKick style), body sculpting, "Total Conditioning" (an advanced intense athletic workout) and step class. I am certified with the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and Powder Blue Productions (for TurboKick). I have been attending group fitness classes since the fall of 1994. I was "hooked" from the night I attended my very first class! It wasn't until, during a particularly motivating Advanced Step class, I almost slipped off of my bench and fell to the floor that the Group Fitness coordinator approached me to begin instructing, noting that I may have been the most focused and intensely passionate student she had ever had. And from there, they say is history. I began instructing a little over a year later, and became certified in the following year. My interest in fitness extends beyond the health club, as I am always involved in one aspect or another of fitness. Some examples from my recent past (or present): avid softball player; completed two mini-Marathons and I run in 5K races when I have the time (including Race for a Cure, American Diabetes and Multiple Sclerosis Fundraisers), an "A" license holder with the American Parachutes Association (APA) in skydiving; and I regularly attend Ashtanga & Hatha Yoga classes. I truly try to incorporate health and fitness into every aspect of my life, both personal and professional. It is my personal philosophy on exercise and fitness that, Fitness is not a short term goal; integrate exercise into your life and you will forever be fit! My fitness clients, my co-workers in Information Technology, and my friends and family will say that I am known for my organizational skills, my drive, my ability to get a lot of work done, and for my dedication to health and fitness.
