Sarah Shepard

Sarah began practicing yoga several years ago to help relieve hamstring and gluteal pain and to add a different level of strength and flexibility to her cycling practice. It didn't take long and she fell in love with yoga and all it had contributed to her general well-being. Yoga even helped her recover from a surgery and severely depleted adrenals. She was barely able to bend to her knees when she began practicing yoga asana, but through dedication, love and consistent practice she has transformed her body and her life. She obtained her 200 RYT through the fabulous Holistic Yoga School in Fort Collins, CO in July 2015 which branches from the P. Jois lineage. Sarah believes that teaching is a partnership with her students and she enjoys connecting and guiding them and allowing the yoga to do the teaching as it flows through her. She is passionate about health as she has taught community members her own green smoothie classes as well as general health and wellness tips and tricks. She has spent several years cultivating a healthy food blog and has maintained a much healthier weight while increasing strength and energy. Living in Washington gave her a new appreciation for fresh and new foods. She loves eating food and trying new things like cherimoyas, yellow raspberries, kiwi berries, star fruit, orange honeydew and kumquats just to name a few. She is incredibly supportive, loving, compassionate and loves a challenge. She enjoys practicing and teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin/Restorative and Gentle classes as well as Meditation and Mindfulness. A well-rounded asana practice involves the fiery postures (yang) as well as the gentle cooling ones (yin). In life, as in yoga, balance is essential and she aims to help her students, peers, friends and family find their inner peace and strength. When she isn't doing asana Sarah is reading, hiking, kayaking, swimming, playing games, drawing, photographing life and dancing with butterflies.
