Fitness has always been important in my life. I taught fitness classes and worked as a personal trainer throughout the 1990's. Eventually I stopped working in the health and wellness field as my career in Biology and Academia took off and I started a family. I maintained my own commitment to wellness. About 8 or 9 years ago, I began to practice yoga regularly, and decided later to learn more about yoga through the RYT-200 program. I received my certification last year, and began volunteering and teaching yoga classes in my community. Part of my teaching involves outreach to the Deaf community, and I now teach classes in ASL for Deaf participants.
