200 RYT
Jigna is originally from India, and started practicing yoga in her elementary school years. After she moved to US in 1994, she began practicing yoga intermittently. It improved her strength and flexibility and provided confidence to adapt to living in the US. In 2010, she moved to Georgia and joined Chinmaya Mission (CM), a non-profit organization focused on spiritual enrichment and community service (seva). Her Jnana Yoga (path of wisdom & knowledge) journey began at CM, by attending various study groups for Hindu Scriptures. The tremendous benefits of meditation and yoga are a recurring theme in the Indian Scriptures. She learned basic pranayama and meditation from the Art of Living center in Atlanta which presented an opportunity to be with herself, a journey for exploring and getting to know her true Self. Her goal is to keep growing as a conscious being. She has been diligently practicing yoga for the last five years, which continues to improve her concentration and create emotional balance. In addition, the yoga practice has allowed her to cultivate positive qualities such as compassion, patience, equanimity, joy and peace. Jigna completed her 200 hrs. RYT at Lift Yoga under her mentor Kim Saunders in January 2018. She shares her practice at local town libraries and community classes at Lift Yoga. She strongly believes that the personal yoga practice will shift the inner energy in some way on some level, if not all levels; and journey for Self-unfoldment will begin!!
