Carrie Treister

Carrie Treister, E-RYT 200 was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She fell in love with yoga and all that it brings in 2000, after she underwent surgery to correct scoliosis. The surgery left her with 13 spinal fusions, two titanium rods one on each side of her spine and several screws and pins. After surgery Carrie had little mobility in her spine, and in order to avoid long-term pain she needed to keep her core strong. Carrie’s yoga practice began as a home practice to prevent long-term pain and help rebuild her core strength. A few years later, her sister and good friend invited her to attend a class at Cleveland Yoga. Her first thought was, “I will not be able to do anything!” Little did she know, her passion and love for yoga would be born.

Carrie graduated from Tami Schneider’s first Cleveland Yoga Teacher Training in 2008. In 2012, Carrie was invited to study with Jonny Kest and participate in two additional 200-Hour teacher trainings that prepared her to begin leading teacher trainings under Jonny Kest for Life Time Fitness. She traveled around the US assisting Jonny at conferences and Wanderlust Tahoe. She is an established teacher in the Cleveland area and loves connecting with and meeting new people. She has a strong passion for what she does and believes that you must love what you do. Yoga has inspired her to be the best version of herself, and she hopes to inspire the same upon her students.

There really is no such thing as I can't. That's the beauty of yoga. There is always a variation to work with any body type. When we feel like it works for us we are more likely to come back and try again. We learn from the experiences that challenge us most.

When Carrie isn’t teaching yoga, she enjoys traveling, cuddling and playing with her dog Elmer, and spending time with family & friends. You may even find her out around town selling Omala Jewelry, a mala inspired jewelry line she started here in Cleveland, or leading mala making workshops!

Carrie opened Carrie Treister School of Yoga and offers her 200-Hour Teacher Training in Cleveland, Ohio. For more information check out www.carrietreister.com
