Yoga has been a part of my life for over 17 years.  As a competitive athlete for most my life, I was initially attracted to yoga as an exercise.  However, as the years passed, my relationship to yoga deepened into a practice that honors the spiritual and mental benefits of yoga in addition to the physical benefits.  I completed my 200 hour training with Samadhi in the summer of 2016.  In my classes, I work to use a spiritual intention as an inspiration for pose integrity and sequencing that works to combine the mind and body to bring balance. For me, yoga is the practice of developing a graceful heart- being mindful of the beauty of the moment and learning to be thankful.  It is allowing yourself life experiences in a way that acknowledges the peaks and pits of human emotions - to be able to nod at an experience but step beyond that into a place where the world calls to you "over and over announcing your place / in the family of things' (Mary Oliver).  It is my hope that my classes help students find their own definition of grace, while at the same time giving their bodies the release it needs through exercise.
